LOS ANGELES, CA.- The Craft and Folk Art Museum has played an important historical role in the development of the Los Angeles art scene and has launched the careers of well-known artists who are currently highlighted in the exhibition Golden State of Craft: California 1960-1985, a part of the Getty’s Pacific Standard Time initiative. The documents of this important historic period are now available in the CAFAM Records, 1965 – 1997, housed in UCLA Library Special Collections, and an index is available online. Former CAFAM librarian Joan Benedetti, working with the Special Collections staff, has completed the 14-year task of creating a keyword-searchable online finding aid now accessible to scholars worldwide in fields including art history, contemporary crafts, folk art, product design, world arts and cultures, folklore, museum studies, library and information studies, women’s studies, and studies of Los Angeles,
