The Outside

The Outside is the first solo show by Becky Beasley at the gallery and forms the second part of the trilogy Late Works the first part of which was produced in 2010. The trilogy will be concluded with a further project and three-part bookwork in 2012.

The show is born from the artist's personal research about Carlo Mollino's work.

After having some of his texts translated in english, in particular Utopia e Ambientazione and Il Messaggio Dalla Camera Oscura, the artist went to Casa Mollino where she could dig deeper into her personal interpretation of photography and its relationship with tridimensional spaces.

The Outside is about this connection between a technique purely bidimensional and its transformation into sculptorial works.

These works suggest a reflection on photography as an experience, trying to cancel the perception of the two classical photography's dimensions such as the front and the back.
